Ellie is 6 mos! Saturday!

Ellie is looking more and more like Sarah! Those big blues are the exact same shape as Sarah's too! What a pretty little girl! You should post more pics!! I love the updates.

I am hardly on my phone at all anymore. I told Derek I wanted a fancy phone, but he was like why? You dont use the one you have. Which is true. Envy is such a pain! :-D

I got an Iphone

So, I just got an Iphone on Tuesday. Man, this thing is great. I already don't know what I did without one.

Green beans

Veggies

Yep, Ellie will be 6 months old on Saturday.

We have started feeding her green beans. So far so good, she's eating them pretty well. if she does well with them for a couple more days we are going to try feeding her peas. We are starting with the green vegetables because they don't taste as good as the colored ones (bananas, sweet potatoes...)

You guys FINALLY get to take your honeymoon/vacation in just 2 short weeks. I AM SOO EXCITED FOR YOU BOTH! Be sure to take lotsa pictures and really just enjoy yourselves. I like laying back and drinking Mai Thais and not having an agenda... but some people like to see the world. So Whatever you guys want to do... do it your way, and have fun!

Derek and I had planned on taking a little vacation somewhere when he graduated from his MBA program, but the way things are working out... I just don't know. I will do whatever I can so that he can get his vacation. He really deserves SOMETHING special to recognize his acheivement. I mean he's been working Full Time, going to school Full time, all while still making time to help me train, train for his triathlon, etc. I am sure his folks want to do something nice to celebrate his accomplishment as well. His mom wanted to fly him out for the graduation ceremony, but I think Derek had something a little more enjoyable in mind. So we'll end up doing something, I am sure... but what? I don't know. and since he reads your blog, I don't think I'll say what I have in mind... but I am thinking about stuff.

SO what are you two lovebirds doing this weekend? I think Derek and I will watch a movie... we might watch burn after reading tonight. I plan on drinking a lot of beer to relax, and destress. I've been worrying too much about my body... and that is boring.

Wow, those little guys are just popping out everywhere! No wonder she's been crying and drooling! That is just soo amazing, and it happened oh so fast! Just 8 weeks and I'll get to hold her! and in a week she'll be 6 mos old! and in 2 weeks you guys will be in Puerto Rico! You gonna listen to Rico Suave as you pack? Ok.. I'm a dork. Ellie is such a pretty little girl. Very adorable. I think she looks cute in all that pink. Though I know you both said you didn't want to get a lot of pink stuff... she is just such a precious little doll! Was this picture taken in your home? I was just curious because I have not seen it yet! In just 2-3 more weeks you'll be on vacation and Ellie will be 6 months old. How fast this has all flown by!

THAT IS SOOO COOL!!!! Man, I really feel like I am missing everything. It sucks being soo far away. But I keep telling myself, just a few more weeks... Just 8 weeks 6 more days... and I'll be in SAINT LOUIS! You have plenty of distractions till I come out... all I have is running and swimming, and hubby time.

MaMa

Ellie discovered M's yesterday. I swear I heard her say MaMa. Granted she was just mumbling and that was just one of the random sounds she made, but it was still cool never the less.

yay another big update today!

she had a tooth break through her lower gums. You can see and feel 1 tooth in her mouth. And before you ask Tristin, I tried to take a picture and I couldn't get it.

I also updated the shutterfly account with some new pictures of Ellie.

Ellie is actually eating solids now!

Last night we tried feeding Ellie again like we have been doing for the past month or more. And this time not only did she not spit the cereal right back out, but she actually ate the entire bowl without getting much on her face at all!!! yay, she's growing up. That means that soon we can try giving her some smashed / blended veggies. see how she likes her green veggies. And, since she can actually eat food now, I put together her high chair last night so that she can sit and eat with us while sarah and I eat our dinner!

We've also started her on the "cry it out" method of sleeping. We started Saturday night. its really been working. last night we put her to bed at around 7:30~8pm and she barely cried before sleeping till 6am. She seems a lot more rested in the mornings now that she isn't going to bed at 10pm. We still need to work on her naps as well as eventually having her sleep all night not swaddled up.

Oh yeah, and she rolls over off of her stomach every time now. I like to flip her back over onto her stomach after she rolls onto her back to see her do it again. it is neat to see her learn to do new things and be able to repeat them.

I am glad you liked it. I watched my training movie... run fat boy run. If you have not seen it, you'll have the opportunity to the Saturday before my race in April. I will be playing it during our pasta dinner, at mom and dad's! While we make and decorate signs for spectators that are coming to cheer with! (Can you tell I am excited? Just 10 more weeks!!!!)

Though you are probably more excited about the vacation. take lotsa pictures!!! and post them!!!

re: date night

we went to the movies and saw Coraline in 3-D. it was really good. We also went to sleep really early which was great.

Mom said that she watched Ellie for you two this weekend, so you could catch up on some Zzz's. That sounds really nice. She said that you told her Ellie might have diaper rash too! Poor little thing! I hope she gets better soon.

So what did you two do on your date night? Just go to bed and sleep? or did you two get together with Curtis and Sarah?

Today is D and my 6 month anniversary! Pretty sweet. No we're not doing anything special. Last night I made enchilladas and they turned out AWESOME. When I come home, I definately should make them for you guys! Derek was like...man why don't we make these more often? and i am like, because I am lazy, and don't really cook. :)

We'll be on vacation in 4 weeks, Ellie will be 6 months old in 3 weeks.

House

We are keeping the old loveseat and chair (come on that chair is like 3 times as old as me). We are going to get rid of the couch. probably by paying the city to have them come pick it up, since its not nice enough to put up on craigslist. I'll try and post some pictures of the new living room this week sometime.

Ellie has been teething really bad lately. I think I can kinda feel some teeth in her mouth coming in, even some of the baby molars. I know it hurts her, but Sarah and I haven't really been able to get any sleep the past 3 nights. Last night she woke up at 1am and wouldn't go back to sleep until we gave her some orajel, fed her a couple more ounces of formula, and had Sarah rock her back to sleep for 45 minutes. Then she still woke up a couple times crying. Its pretty rough for her right now, we are hoping that we'll get to see some pearly whites soon. she's been teething for so long now and she still hasn't had a tooth break through.

So no more old furnature?

Just teasing... I cannot wait to see more photos of Ellie and of your new house/furniture. I am soo happy for you both. Thanks for your kind words yesterday. I am just really in a slump right now. Thinking about walking for 6 hours is bummin' me out. I guess since it is going to be probably really long and boring, I don't know if I want a lot of people coming in town for it. I am just really scared about getting hurt and being cranky. Plus I kinda wish I hadn't told so many of my friends. Is that weird? It is like people want me to go out w/ them... when I just want to see my neice and relax.

What isn't bumming me out, is that I will finally get to see little Ellie, and your home and your new pet! Only 10 weeks and 2 days and I'll be in St Louis.

New living room

Our new living room furniture arrived Sunday morning! Now we can finally get rid of those old couches.

Sarah and I are really happy with our new living room, and it was perfect for guests since Curtis and Sara came over and mom and dad stopped by as well (for the super bowl).

It was a pretty good game even if the cards lost. Although I think the Boss' half time show was pretty weak. None of us knew what the opening song was, and he didn't play Born in the USA. I was really expecting him to play his new hit, Radio nowhere. The Commercials were ok. I was shocked AB-Inbev spent so much on commercials ($45million) since they are laying so many off in STL.
