Baby Ellie

This is Ellie in the Christmas dress Tristin purchased for her. This is also my first attempt at uploading pictures; I had lots uploaded and I received an error message. I'm going to try again with a few more. She is a beautifl little girl and a delight to all her are in her presence. Very happy baby! I was able to baby sit her Dec. 26. while Todd and Sarah participated in Mark and Nikki's wedding. She was just a perfect baby.

Sorry, I know but I have a good excuse this time.

I got home around 6pm, ate dinner shortly after getting home.

Dog got sick, and I had to clean it up...
Cleaned vaccuum because it was gross and barely working...
Dog got sick again, and I had to clean it up...
Took dog to 24 hour emergency room...
got home around 11pm...
Went to sleep.

I would have preferred a quiet night where I got to update the shutterfly, but I was a little busy dealing with a very sick dog. Davey had to get a bunch of fluids injected under his skin since he was so dehydrated. He looked kinda like a hunchback last night and he would sometimes start leaking too. They gave him an anti nausea injection as well. He's also on a special diet for the rest of the week and we need to give him antibiotics 3 times a day.

I'll update the shutterfly when I get to it, the pictures aren't going anywhere.

My heart broke last night, but I still held out hope... and it fell again this morning.

It is cold here, brrr, it was 30* this morning walking to the car. Yesterday it started off just as cold but warmed up to 71* in the afternoon. I hope it does the same again today. I really dont like the cold. It makes me grouchy!

Christmas was nice.

We went to Mom and Dad's for Christmas Eve for some home made chicken noodle soup.
Christmas morning, Sarah, Ellie, and I opened some presents at our house, then we drove over to Mom and Dad's house for Waffles and presents. Mom and Dad got Ellie, Sarah, and I some great gifts! We drove over to Illinois after waffles for Christmas at Grandma Jeanne's house. A lot of family were there and we got a mountain of stuff for Ellie. After Grandma Jeanne's we had one last Christmas to stop by. We went to Sarah's Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house to see all of them, and have a lot of people hold and play with Ellie. We finally headed home after that for some much needed rest for Sarah, Me, and Ellie.

The Day after Christmas we woke up early to drop off Ellie and Mom and Dad's (Grandma and Grandpa Ross), since we were groomsman and bridesmaid at Mark and Nikki's Wedding. Which as a FULL and fun day (10am->11:30pm).

I was hoping mom or dad would respond to my email and send me some photos of Ellie's first Christmas. I am still waiting! I just checked shutterfly; none there either. I was hoping I could see some of her... she is just soo cute and I feel like I miss out on soo much being so far away!!

Little Ellie Grows!

It is amazing how much Ellie can do... and how quickly too. I very much like the updates on what she is doing and how she is growing! It really is awesome how much the human baby learns in the first few months!

I hope that the dresses and Christmas outfit that Derek and I got for Ellie fit her. If not I included the receipts so that you could exchange for something that does fit. It is amazing how big she is getting sooo quickly too! Well I mean she is still TINY, but you know what I mean.

I know Morgan is looking forward to her visit, at least that is what mom says, so that she can see little Ellie again. So Sarah should be getting some days off from work... are you also getting time off?

mini update

Little Ellie is getting pretty big... well compared to what she used to be. She's definitely wearing her 3-6 month clothes now.

She's starting to do some fun stuff now. She can roll over from her back to her stomach, but since she hates tummy time she gets upset when she makes it over. She loves sitting up, but she can't quite do it on her own yet. she needs a little propping up, which is why we are hopefully getting a bumbo seat for her on Christmas!!! She also likes to play with toys on her swing or other things nearby.

wow! 4* brrr! I just checked out the weather and it may snow tonight and tomorrow... possibly making it a white christmas in st louis. how very exciting! It is supposed to be rainy here... and in the 50's. It makes it really hard to run when it is all rainy. It is like 2 weeks of rain, and in AZ that is rare! It normally only rains in the months of July and August.

I am glad you like the pretty dress for Ellie, and hopefully she'll be able to fit in the Christmas outfit too! I hope Sarah had a nice birthday, and that you both enjoyed yourselves this weekend- even through the cold weather. I'll keep my eyes peeled for some new photos!

OMG, I had the strangest dream last night. I was Kate's maid of honor at her wedding. EVERYONE HATED ME, except for Sarah, who was like... I'm a mom- I'm too busy to be maid of honor- plus I'd rather have everyone hating YOU! and they did! and I was cussing and yelling- as everyone is telling me how I've forgotten everything Kate likes for her party... and I've ruined her shower. My mom is telling everyone I'd buy them a Tiffany's necklace to make it better- and I am SCREAMING "F!" NO I wont! All the girls are mad at me because I barely know Kate and they know her better- and are mad at me for being MOH. I am like- well if you were true friends you'd help me! and not let her day be ruined... and everyone was like... Oh and I could do this at my wedding... and I am like NO! We are here for Kates wedding- so drop your own wedding plans for a minute for Pete's sake, and celebrate the joy for Kate! IT WAS SOO WEIRD. And she really really wanted some candied sweet potato dish that I forgot... Sarah was the only one that helped me... and I am in a screaming match with women older- younger, the same age... that all HATE ME! I woke up and was like... bleh! That dream sucked! But was like... hmm I wonder how ole Kate is doing... do either of you know?

Of course I fell asleep last night reading The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove by Christopher Moore... which is a weird book to say the least!

I sent you my flight reservation. I figured I would rather take extra time off from work (unfortunately all unpaid)- and be in st louis longer- than come out twice each for only 36 hours.

This way I'll be in town6 days... 2 travel days- but I get in at 2:30 and leave at 4 or so I think- so it is still a nice visit.

I will try to come in again before the race if I can- and definately afterwards. (Kristi has a lot of wedding stuff she'd like for me to attend also.) I just have to look at time and money. I am advancing in my running- and basically we are over 2 hours on my long days... and soon will be closer to 3+. I dont know that I have the discipline to run for 3+ hours when I am in town for only 36 of those... and asleep for 8. Unfortunately- I really can't skip the running- because I am too "injury prone" based on my body mechanics.

I love seeing pictures of Ellie! She is soo beautiful! Also send pics of you two! I love to see your happy new parent faces! When you drop Ellie off to shop this weekend with mom and dad, Sarah, please open your birthday present... and PLEASE open Ellie's Christmas gift. I won't! I already sent her birthday gift home w/ mom BEFORE thanksgiving. GEESH! :) no worries. Thanksgiving was a week earlier last year... thus giving the appearance of more time to shop! Christmas is just rollin' up sooner because of that is all. No worries. I am soo excited about Mark and Niki's wedding, tell them both congrats from me and D and give a hug and kiss to the bride and groom for me! These are indeed some happy times!

ICY in STL

Yes, its been icy and snowy the past couple days here in st louis with windchills in the negative degrees. Also traffic has just been crazy due to the weather.

Sarah and I have been horribly remiss about our Christmas shopping. We have barely gotten anything, I would say we are maybe 15% done with our shopping... This should be a busy weekend.

This thursday i'm looking forward to Nikki and Mark's rehearsal dinner for their wedding the day after christmas. After the rehearsal dinner us guys are having a small bachelor party... it won't be too big since I have to work on Friday.

Sarah's Birthday is Saturday too!!! So, don't forget to wish her a Happy Birthday!

Christmas in Indy

I've updated the shutterfly with a bunch of pics from the trip. It was a lot of fun, the only downside was Saturday night we showed up at Noble Romans pizza 20 minutes after it closed.

Wed Dec 10th

it was so cute, last night Ellie was in her swing and she started playing with the little blue ball that is attached and has beads inside. She was spinning the ball and kinda giggling after each spin. I LOVE IT! She's actually interacting with something and learning that things she does have a reaction. Human cognitive development is really cool.

Frozen ring?

Does she have one of those frozen toothing rings?

or is she too little? It might help... but I only know based off of other kids... not personal experience. You're the one encountering the baby waters first! I hope she starts to feel better. Looks like teething happens from 4-7 months - and can start as early as 3! So at 14-15 weeks old... that would be right on schedule!

Christmas trip!

Yes, we are all heading to Indy on Friday! Davey will be boarded all weekend Friday-Monday :(

Sarah and I think that Ellie might be teething already. She is getting very irritable especially while eating, and doesn't sleep all through the night anymore. In fact she is waking up quite a bit. We have started to give her some baby orajel and that seems to help a little. I don't see or feel any teeth coming through, but I read that signs of teething can start up to a month before you ever see a tooth.

HO HO HO! 16 more days to go!

Hope that sarah is feeling well, and I also hope Davey is feeling better! I know you were planning on driving to Indy w/ the folks this weekend. Are you boarding Guinness and Davey? or will friends be watching them? or will you be taking them with you? If that is the case... it will be a very cramped ride!

Sarah's birthday is coming up too! If you don't have her birthday gift- be sure to get that from mom. Also Ellie's Christmas presents- you can open whenever... as you may want to use them BEFORE Christmas arrives!

Long weekend!

Derek and I had a long weekend! Just watched a few movies, ate pizza, ran a lot... it was a pretty nice time. LAID BACK!

Mom tells me that Ellie is teething possibly and has been really fussy - and you aren't sure if you want to go to Indy. I know you'd have a nice time and the relatives would just love to see the little one! I hope everyone is feeling better - and that if you decide to go, that you have a safe trip. I understand how exhausting weekend travels can be- when you have to be back at work on monday morning- and I DONT have a baby!

quick update

I was going to update with some pictures last night, but Sarah was very sick. I had to take care of her and Ellie all night as well as run to walmart to get more formula and other essentials. Sarah is taking the day off to relax and hopefully get better.

Thanksgiving was very nice, Grandpa was in town which is always a pleasure. We had dinner around 1pm at mom and dad's place and afterwords we went over to Sarah's aunt pat's house for the evening where we had desert. On friday, I woke up very early for some black friday shopping.

Depending on how Sarah is feeling, I'll update the website tonight with some pictures. although I need mom and dad, and jeanne to send me some of their pics from thanksgiving.

Getting sick, staying healthy

GOBBLE GOBBLE!

So how was Thanksgiving, where did you guys go, and what did you do?

Derek and I ran, I made the food - he helped with the prep. Stupid turkey directions said it would be ready in 50 minutes (we got the boneless breast, not the whole bird) and so we made all the fixins right away... 2.5 hours late and the turkey seems like it is done, no pink and was warm, but the nipple didn't pop. So Derek and I (starving from the race) just ate a lot of the sides... and then took the turkey out..not waiting for it to cool! One thing I would say is that - this breast thing is the way to go... very easy w/ minimal cleanup! No bones to carve around... perfect! Then we went over to Casey and Meghans for pie. Derek stayed until 10, I left at 6 (because I had to work today)... anywho... I would love to see more pics of my niece! love you all!

I am not quite sure what you have planned, I know you all will have a nice time. I just wanted to take a moment before the big run, and say how grateful I am to have you all in my life - and to share life's moments with you. We are all truley blessed.

Weekend

Hey I hope you and Sarah had a nice weekend. I know I did. It was nice seeing mom and dad. Makes me really sad - I didn't know how good it was to have the family be so close... now that I never get to see anyone - it really means a lot... just the little things. So I hope you and Sarah had a nice weekend too. I know mom is trying to get ready for Thanksgiving and she is excited to host it! She has to pick up the turkey today... maybe you can remind her... she didnt pick it up because she was in Arizona, and now she has to buy it and IMMEDIATELY defrost it too!

Anywho - stop by and really enjoy the time w/ mom and dad. I am really sad that I dont get it more often.... but it was my idea to move, so I guess the saying is... dont cry for me Argentina... :`(

Anywho... please update with more pictures of your daughter! Mom showed me a whole bunch from the wedding, Texas, and just cute ones of little Ellie... I really cannot get enough... Gifts - being sent home

Hey guys, I am sending gifts home with mom and dad. Ellie's Christmas gifts from Derek and I, as well as Sarah's birthday present. Due to airline security, I cannot wrap them before hand... so mom said she'll take care of that. I just wanted to give you a heads up that they are on the way.

MOM AND DAD ARE COMING!!!

Hey I heard that you are watching mom and dad's pup- very nice of you! Sounds like this trip shouldn't be too pricey either! Tommy is lending them a car, a place to stay, and you are sitting the pooch! Pretty cool! Anywho, hope he isn't too much trouble for you to watch! I know with my little guy he won't go to the restroom unless you are with him... and new people distract him from doing his outdoor plumbing. Anywho, just wanted to say that is sweet of you two, and I hope you have a really nice weekend!

ALBUM IS DONE!

Our wedding album has been submitted. I just noticed that they had the date wrong! How unobservant of me! I was so focused on my name - and the pictures - I didn't even check the date! But now it is fixed - and off to the presses... I just have to decide the paper type... matte or varnish. I am not sure of the difference - as I haven't seen them in person - the designer recommends varnish as the Matte can "blow out" anything that is white... as my dress adn a lot of the background is white... Varnish may be the way to go...

Well mom and dad love the anniversary, Christmas gift. Mom got all emotional while reading the gift outloud... started crying- not quite hysterics... but some of the heave ho- sobs. Pretty cool! I am keeping my happy thoughts for warm weather, and have advised mom and dad to dress in layers... though it gets to be 80* by 4-5 PM... it takes all day to warm up to that temperature... and quickly drops about 15* once the sun goes down... so when they are taking off - it will be probably 45-55* and warm up to maybe 65* by the time the air balloon trip is over... it won't be like 80* until the end of the day.... what can I say? Zona is weird too!

Derek and I have been busy cleaning and decorating -- for the upcoming holiday season... and in preparation of mom and dad's visit! But this is what our animals have been doing!

The response from the designer is really awesome - and fast! She was able to make some quick fixes - and so now it is nearing completion - only 6 pages of 40 left... with some minor tweaks... but this is gonna ROCK!
