Johnie Londoff

So good news, The dealership fixed everything for free.  They didn't try to play the blame game which is nice.  So, while they receive negative points for screwing up something as simple as an oil change, they also receive bonus points for accepting their mistake, paying for the tow, and fixing it for free.

Kitchen samples

Here are some of the options we decided on for the new kitchen.  The only thing missing is the porcelain tile that is going in the kitchen and bathroom (it looks like a natural stone), and the granite we are using.

I really like using prosource (www.prosourcefloors.com) so far.  They made finding everything we wanted really easy, and they have flooring (wood/tile/carpet), cabinets, backsplash materials, countertops, and more all in one show floor.  It was laid out really well, and easy to browse.  So for now, high marks in the shopping experience.  I'll update this later when I get the products, and meet with my designer to lay out the cabinet plan.

We are using the taupe glass in the back splash with the tile.

We are using this tile, the lighter one for the back splash.

Car troubles

Sarah's car ran into some issues this weekend.  Apparently when she got her oil change at Johnie Londoff Chevrolet in North St Louis, they cross threaded the oil filter cap.  The Cap is now impossible to remove, and due to Jiffy Lube trying cause the car to leak oil.  This was probably caused because Londoff uses air tools instead of manual tools.  We have called Johnie Londoff and they are paying for a tow to their service dept.  Hopefully they get the cap off and see that their filter is on the car, and pay to fix it.  Or they are now Suntrop to me.  (Suntrop is another dealer in town with terrible commercials, and some sexist practices.  On principle, I won't go to Suntrop.)

I'll update this if they are good enough to fix their mistake.  If they won't, I'll be contacting the BBB.

Went Shopping

We went to ProSource yesterday and picked out our new wood flooring, our Cabinet color and style, back splash, Kitchen tile, and granite for the countertops.  Now we just need to meet w/ our designer to plan the new layout of the cabinets.

Biggest change in design for the kitchen is that we are replacing the island with a peninsula.

Kitchen Remodel - Before Pics

We have decided to take the plunge and remodel our kitchen.  I am going to post a bunch of "Before" Pics now!  And more as the process continues.

We are going to put hardwood in the kitchen space, Hallways, and Playroom (Dining Room)

Ignore Ellie's Playroom mess.

We are also going to be updating the bathroom off the kitchen by making it have the same cabinets and countertop as the kitchen.
