Taxes....

Well just maybe you will get some more money back with those refund bills that congress is trying to get past... could be like $1200... which would only put you in the hole $800...

I know... not great news... but it is something!

Taxes suck

I just wanted to say that taxes (as well as our companies for not taking enough out) suck.
we owe over $2000 to the federal and Missouri Government... Talk about throwing off our budget.

Quick Ultrasound Update.

Since Tristin is SOOO anxious. I decided to take some quick pictures with my camera... I'll stop by the future grandma and grandpa's house to use their scanner this weekend and I'll post higher quality pictures.

The Dr said that the baby had a good heartbeat as you can sorta see in the first picture. She also said that September 1st was a good due date. Everything looked healthy and it was a really amazing experience. you could kinda see the baby wave, kick, and move even though its only about an inch. We got to hear the heart beat and even see it pumping the blood.

WHAT!!!

You said you were going to put up the ultrasound pictures already... and you have had some time to eat... so what is the delay?

~~~Tristin IS EXCITED!!!~~~~
Have Fun tomorrow! I am glad you like all the presents! I'd like to think we love to give AND receive in our family!!!!
Tristin must be excited
When Tristin told me she was excited about being an Aunt, I wasn't expecting her to send us a mini baby shower the very next week...She sent us:
11 Onesies:
50% mommy + 50% Daddy = 100% Cute (Sarah's Favorite)
Puppy Love
Already Breaking Hearts
Toadally cool
Mommy and Daddy's Alarm Clock
3 pack of puppy onesies
3 pack of froggy onesies
1 Footsy Pajamas:
Cute and Cuddly (my favorite)
1 Pair of Puppy Socks
2 Hats
2 Blankets with Hoods
She also sent Sarah a couple maternity shirts and a Target gift card to help buy some maternity items.
Honestly I couldn't have a better sister, or Aunt for my child! She is already spoiling our baby and its barely a fetus.
Oh yeah, and our first ultrasound is tomorrow so if we get a picture I'll make sure to post it here.
Week 10
So we are starting Week 10 of Sarah's pregnancy today!
Sarah and I had a pretty laid back weekend.
Friday night we ate at olive garden, came home and watched some tv (Monk and Psych).
Saturday, we drove to Belleville to see (Grandma) Jeanne. We helped them move in a new bedroom set. In the evening Curtis and Sarah stopped by for a short visit.
Sunday, We had lunch with (Grandma) Laura, and (Grandpa) Jim. It was a nice visit over lunch at Bread Co. Afterwards we went home and didn't do much of import other than finish taking the Christmas tree down.
Coming up, we have our first ultrasound on Wednesday! I'm really excited to see the baby and hear its heartbeat! I'll let everyone know more info like the due date and everything else after that.
Friday - Jan. 25, 2008
Well, Mom Ross has been very busy, but not too busy to tell Grandma Sandy and Granpa Jerry that they will soon be Great - Grandparents!!!! And I told Grandpa Jerry last, after I told Aunt Christy and Uncle Greg. Though most everyone guessed my "happy" news. I called Grandma Sandy the night you told me. She was so excited that Dad could hear her through my cell phone, from the other room!
Everyone is sending you their warmest wishes and congratulations and blessings for a happy, healthy pregnancy and baby!
Love,
Mom
Wondering Aloud
Sarah and I were wondering last night (while watching 2 episodes of chuck on NBC) if mom, dad, and Jeanne had told any other family about the pregnancy yet. Sarah said that she thinks mom might have said she wanted to wait a couple more weeks till Sarah is in her second trimester... but wasn't sure.
Do Grandma and Grandpa Ross know? Does Grandpa Gerry or Grandma Sandy know? Do any of my aunt and uncles know?
Also, I wish Day Care establishments made their prices more easily available... I haven't been able to find any prices online and I have been curious about how much day care costs for a 6 week old here in St Louis.
The Big News
Sarah and I have been busy the past couple of days disseminating the news...
We both told our parents on Monday. I told Tristin last night on the phone. I informed all of the tekes on the message board and have been inundated with calls, emails, and IMs congratulating Sarah and me. Its good that everyone is being so supportive. I'm really thankful.
Tasting
Tonight Sarah and I are going to a food tasting with my parents for my sister's wedding. We also plan on telling my parents that we are pregnant, so here's hoping that they are pleasantly surprised. I'm pretty excited about being a father and I hope my parents are excited about becoming grandparents. This also means that at my sister's wedding Sarah is going to be 8 months pregnant as a bridesmaid, which introduces some challenges into finding her bridesmaid dress.
first doctor visit!
I'm feeling better and better every day, at this rate I think I should be at 100% tomorrow.
Sarah had her first doctor's visit yesterday and everything seemed well. they didn't do very much, just talked a bit about the process. We decided that we 'think' we want to give birth at St Lukes, because it is a lot closer to home than St Johns. We have another appointment on the 30th for the first ultrasound. I'm really excited for that. I don't know if I should tell our parents now, or wait until we have an ultrasound pic before we tell them...
oh yeah, let me post a couple pics of me from the Vegas trip. I'll post more when I get them from Curtis.
Sick
When I said I was out of it in that last post it was apparently because I was about to get more sick than I have been in years. I don't think I have been this sick since 1999. it was awful. I had a temp of 104-103, and I had to call in to work on Tuesday and Wednesday. I hate having to use sick days. especially when I was trying to save them for paternity leave and Wednesday was a casual chili day at work.
I probably won't be able to go to Sarah's doctor's appointment tomorrow now, because after missing 2 days of work I probably won't be able to ask to leave a couple hours early. On the bright side I've barely eaten anything so I hopefully lost some weight.
14 January 2008
Back from Vegas
Vegas was loads of fun! Only downside was that Sarah and Curtis got really sick all day saturday, which was the day we flew back. I got sick on sunday and am still sick.
Sarah has her first doctors visit this thursday, so hopefully everything will be looking good. I'm kinda out of it, so hopefully I'll update more when I'm feeling better.
04 January 2008
Vegas Baby!
Today is my last day of work before I go to Vegas Monday morning! Sarah has to work late tonight, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and catch a separate flight Monday after work.
Sarah has her first Doctors appointment on the 19th, the week after we get back from Vegas. Hopefully everything will still be ok by then! keep your fingers crossed.
What to Expect when you're expecting
I've been reading a lot of the book 'What To Expect When You're Expecting'. It is a pretty interesting read, the only information it doesn't have that I would find useful is a list of some of the items that we need to buy or non-birth related things we need to do to prepare for having a child.
What kind of furniture do we need?
What does a nursery need to be functional?
How do we go about looking for a nanny/daycare service?
How do you baby proof your house?
Only two couples we are friends with have a child. Although we rarely ever see them to ask any of these types of questions. I guess I'll probably get some help from my mom when we eventually tell them we are pregnant. But I would prefer a source with everything I need to know...
02 January 2008
I-64 Closed
So two things happened today:
1. Highway 40 / I-64 closed this morning:
I didn't have any traffic on the way into work today... Hopefully that means things won't be so bad, but I think people are still taking off work, so I'm really afraid of this coming monday when schools start back up and everyone goes back to work.
2. Sarah goes went back to work:
After having a week and half off for Christmas and new years (her job rocks), Sarah had to go back to work today. This makes it her first day back at work after she knows she's pregnant. Hopefully she doesn't tell anyone, although I know she is going to want to.
On a side note, a coworker of mine gave us a great idea that we decided to use for ourselves. every week we are going to buy diapers starting now. This way, when we bring Toby/Eliza home, we won't have to worry as much about diapers in our budget. So as of now we have 112 diapers for 8-14lbs babies.
First Day of 2008
Well, today is January 1st of 2008. Today I plan on cleaning the office in my apartment, because it looks more like a giant storage closet right now. I guess it will need to completely changed if its going to be used as a nursery for a couple months before we get a house.
My mother also wants us to stop by sometime today.
